I sold my 1967 Daimler v250 at the Feb 16th 2022 classic car auction. The car was beyond economic repair and bought on a whim at a time my wife was in hospital. James Dennison the classic car specialist at Brightwells did a very good job marketing and presenting the car on their website and managed to achieve a sale price in excess of 1.9K. Purchased an excavator as fully working for almost 15000 (not listed as faulty). Had hauliers collect the excavator and received a call telling me I would need a forklift to offload as one of the tracks wasn't working. Phoned Brightwells to ask what was going on and they denied all knowledge of the excavator having a problem. They are fully aware that if it had been listed as faulty it would not have brought in anyway near the price it did. I now have a excavator that doesn't work even though it was listed as fully working.

Wasn't allowed to view the cars. I'm not going to buy unseen, will buy from Wilson's Auctions instead.

Recently bought a mower from an online auction run by Brightwells. Turned out to be a real fraud - engine not even complete, let alone working. Completely unrepairable. Not listed as for parts or non-running. Legally I have no comeback - unlike if bidding on Ebay where at least the seller is required to give an accurate description of the item. When I complained to the auctioneer, they suggested I put it back in the auction and sell it onto someone else. Morally indefensible and I wouldn't do this to someone else.

I at least expected the auction house to blacklist the dealer concerned who is clearly getting rid of their rubbish through the auction house. Do not buy from this auctioneer unless the pandemic is over and you can see what you are buying - they are not reputable or trustworthy.

Cannot tell you if you have brought the car when says bid accepted on internet Two days later they changed their minds, having purchased elsewhere they ban me from bidding! After selling two or classics and a purchase smoothly over the last couple of years. Even get my account confused with another company. They seemed like a nice place and company to deal with.
