Stay away, waste of money and time! Paid every month for over two years and then when I needed help I got told no, I waited for an answer for like 9 days to get told no financial help. Good at taking money but bad at helping when in need. They also misled you that they will help and support you but then you will get a letter nicely written with a silly reason. So keep your hard-working money from these crooks

We had an oil leak which took forever to get sorted. Last piece of work was to relay our decking. They used the labourers to do this and what a shambles. Now 4 years on we will have to replace all of our decking, which may I add was laid to perfection with a couple of mms between each board and NO movement. Dont use this company, shambolic

Had building insurance with this company for 20 years for 2 properties. First claim/enquiry about cracks in wall and apparently my insurance in now cancelled because of a change in policy 2 months ago regarding overseas landlords. They never informed me and continued to take monthly payments. And have kindly given me 30 days to find another provider.
They say I have to contact underwriters for my claim. How ridiculous! After a month of email correspondence, I have a complaint number. And no other assistance. Thanks for 20 years of taking my money.

I would strongly suggest that you avoid using payment shield. We took out a home insurance policy with payment shield when we moved into our new house and carefully read the documentation. Once we had moved in however there was a leak and we had a certified heating engineer come and diagnose the problem. Although our insurance includes 'water ingress into the fabric of the building', payment shield refused to pay for the pipes to be removed and our leak fixed.
I am hugely disappointed with the service from payment shield. Unfortunately all of the negative stereotypes about this insurance company seem to be true. Please do not use them and go to a company that values your custom and cares.

I had a letter noting that I was in arrears - short version is I'd changed to a new provider without realising I was on an auto-renewal (my fault entirely). I called up to discuss and spoke with Elaine, who could not have been more helpful, friendly, considerate and reassuring. To the point where I actually felt a bit bad for moving my business elsewhere!
Only had a relatively short wait to get through too, which for 2pm isn't bad at all. Quickly and easily resolved - will definitely use them again on this basis; excellent customer service thank you again.

GET A SOFTWARE ENGINEER! The website and account pages are unintuitive and the options online for managing one's account are slim and clunky. Simple things like form filling are made more difficult, and you have to contect them to cancel your policy. In this day and age they should see this as an opportunity to reduce call times and costs.
