DAS has been providing customers with legal help for over 40 years, and our pedigree goes back even further. Here's how we got to where we are today, with some images of how our brand has evolved over the years. Legal Expenses Insurance itself can be traced back to 1917 and the creation of a mutual company known as Defense Automobile et Sportive in France.
DAS UK Group is part of the international network of DAS companies owned by the ERGO Insurance Group, one of the major insurance groups in Germany and Europe. They, in turn, have been specialising in legal expenses products and services for more than 80 years. The majority shareholder in ERGO is Munich Re, the largest and financially strongest reinsurer in the world.

A truly atrocious company avoid at all costs. DAS provided terrible service and incorrect advice when dealing with an employment tribunal case for me back in December 2017. Because of the atrocious service and incorrect advice I made a complaint to DAS about this In January. The original tribunal matter is still ongoing as there is a remedy hearing and the respondent has made a cost application mainly around how DAS dealt with the matter.
As I complained about their service they have not advised me that they refuse to deal with me further. They have made no assessment over the continuing matter but just advised that as I have complained about to of their advocates they cant and wont deal with me. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE THE ARROGANCE OF THESE PEOPLE IS BEYOND BELIEF. IF YOU MAKE A LEGITAMATE COMAPLINGT AS THEY HAVE BEEN TRULY AWFUL THEY TURN ROUND AND TAKE THEIR BALL HOME AND BEHAVE LIKE CHILDREN. YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP. DON'T EVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO THIS THIS AWFUL COMPANY!
