Absolutely awful company to deal with. I had to take insurance for a second car. Only after I had committed to the policy and after the 14 day period was I notified I couldn't use my NCD as it was only possibly to use this on one policy at a time. This meant the cost of the policy with Lancaster literally doubled. I asked if I could cancel to which I was told yes but it would have cost me half of the yearly premium to do so.
With no viable alternative I had to proceed with the increase. A month or two later I paid the policy off in full rather than accrue the interest charges. Little did I know a few months later I would need to cancel the policy. Whilst on the phone to cancel the policy the operator took quite a while to work out my refund which was around 160. To date some 7 weeks later I have still only received 29 of this and after numerous phone calls I am still waiting for the remainder.
Which I have no doubt they will try and worm out of paying! Avoid at all costs. They are truly awful to deal with! I will be seeking legal advice with regards fraudulent selling of a policy!

Total sham of a company, cancelled my insurance in April over the phone, still charged me may's payment and now saying I need to pay cancellation fee over 100.00+ as policy wasn't cancelled! Unprofessional customers service and Total discussing service, not interested in sorting this out just wont payments! STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!

I insured my Mazda MX-5 with Lancaster with an annual policy costing 135. I had been on cover for 30 days, when I decided to sell my car. I asked Lancaster to cancel the policy.as I no longer needed it. I was very surprised and angry when they informed me that due to time on risk and cancellation fees their would be no return of premium at all. Buyers beware!

My experience at Lancaster insurance has been really amazing. Competitive prices and customer service is excellent, truly supportive and knowledgeable. I had a wonderful experience with Stephania last week, doing a change of address on my policy. I hope I spelt her name correctly She was really helpful and nice through the whole process, I couldn't be happier with my experience with Lancaster insurance

DO NOT USE! They are not the insurers, they are simply brokers that deal with pittiful insurance companies that just want to rip you off. We had a classic car and paid for the entire year up front (silly us). Unexpected circumstances forced us to sell so we cancelled the policy after 3 months and conveniently the insurance cancellation fee was the exact amount of the remaining 9 months.
Never use this company, the sales team will bend the truth just to get a sale and the customer service team will just dig their heels in so they don't have to refund you any money. AVOID.

Terrible company, hide behind the british family values yet treat customers like dirt! Took my car insurance then I get threatening letters asking for more money as the quote had expaired, even thought I paid in full when given the quote! Mafia style and customer servcies are rude and unhelpful! Go elsewhere for your insurance otherwise you might see a black Mercedes outside your house!

Lancaster insurance will charge an admin fee to make any changes, even if these are vehicles details they have got wrong. Wasn't informed that a classic policy essentially freezes your no claims at its current level. Said I wanted move to somewhere where insurance would go down year on year and got hung up on. Would avoid in future.
