Cirencester Friendly offers a Holloway style income protection contract called Income Assured Enhanced. Unlike many income protection providers, this gives you the option to grow a capital sum alongside your income protection contract; a feature that goes all the way back to our roots. In 1878 Stroud business man George Holloway wrote an essay detailing a scheme that provided workers with sick pay, should they fall ill and become unable to work.

I am very happy with the services I have received from the Cirencester Friendly. Their claim assessors have always been kind, patient and helpful to me. They have assessed my claim quickly and paid my benefit on time. I highly recommend this company's services.

To everyone reading this do not use this company please! I was very sick and immobile for over two months they paid me half the agreed amount. At the time I was unable to fight this as I needed personal care and was bed ridden etc. The added stress this put upon my recovery was Inconceivable. I hope the very rich owners can come down to earth a bit and realise we are your customer's. Best wishes for your future improvement Steve

Every things great when they are taking money from you, very quick of the mark to let you know you have cancelled your dd in a matter of days. when it comes to paying you the cancellation settlement its a whole different story. 5 weeks and still waiting.

Excellent service with niche criteria! As an adviser I have found the team to be super friendly and willing to find solutions to clients with complex needs! I have never had a client complain about Cirencester and myself and various colleagues have used there services for donkeys years!

I've had my business income protection insurance with this lot since 2009, starting at (I think) about 23 a month. My monthly premiums went up every five years and I've never had to claim. My 2020-25 monthly premiums were to go up from just over 42 to just over 60 and they would have paid me about 280 a month if I'd needed to claim. As a 'Friendly Society' I assumed they were a decent firm and just carried on paying up, but now I know better.

I finally shopped around. Via GoCompare, I've now got 400 a month cover for 8 a month. I've wasted thousands with CFS over the last ten years and I resent that bitterly. This is simply an insurance firm and loyalty counts for nothing. Shop around, you'll get better cover and save a packet. In response to their reply below: Note that they say it 'COULD' be just over 950 a month.

Their statements each year said I'd get 220.50 a week. Well that's based on a percentage of my monthly income (a fact that's nicely hidden away in the policy documents, not anywhere on the annual statements). Working it out (something I've never bothered to do before - I trusted them) just before I posted this review, and on my current income, I'd have got just over 280 a month.

Nothing they have written below changes my opinion of them. Shop around, and if you do end up with them, make sure you keep tabs on just what they would ACTUALLY pay out. The rest of the supposed 'benefits' are fluff and nonsense to me (respectively: NHS, no children, nothing I'd want). I've wasted thousands by sticking with them and couldn't be less impressed.

And to CFS directly. You need to have a good, hard look at your annual statements and alter them to make it VERY clear that: 1) It is up to the policy holder to regularly update you if their circumstances change as this will affect (and in my case, drastically reduce) the potential weekly amount paid out. Just saying to 'review your cover with a financial adviser' doesn't cut it.

That's hiding behind words. 2) The weekly benefit shown is based on the policy holder's CURRENT income, not their income when they took the policy out. Thanks for trying to call me, I was away, but there's no need in any case. Unless you're offering a refund for the thousands I've wasted with you, I'm off.

I started using these guys for my income protection last year, and I have had to claim a few times, alls well and good up until March when I started a claim. admittedly there is a pandemic, but 3 months later I'm still owed two months sick pay after fracturing my spine. Had to holiday my mortgage and might have to take a loan to cover the payment due next month unless they pay out. Useless at replying to emails, sometimes two weeks to reply even just to update you on the claim.

The person dealing with my claim wouldn't talk to me on the phone and was on an "email only" basis. I definitely will be looking at leaving after my claim has finished. For "income protection" you want to know that whatever is going on that you will be sorted and your family has some security. Poor customer service in my opinion, hard to get hold of and get any information out of you even when you're making monthly payments into their bank account Only giving them two stars not one because in previous claims they were better

5* service! Couldn't fault the company at all throughout my accident. The advisors I spoke to were very helpful and made completing my claim a easy process. I had a motocross accident 9 days ago, phoned the claims department to send out forms as I had broken my arm. Today 8 days after my initial phone call I have received my payout in my bank account.

Such poor customer service. Really difficult to deal with. I finally cancelled and they ask for a signature to make sure it is the account holder. Is that not why you have just confirmed DPA? I don't know of any other company who operates like this and they are putting barriers to cancel up for customers. Very poor!
